Delete Your Account

Last updated: April 2026

The short version

You can delete your Lottery Pool account at any time, either from inside the app or by emailing us. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, push notification tokens, and in-app notifications from our servers.

1. Delete from inside the app (fastest)

  1. Sign in at thelotterypool.net or open the Lottery Pool app.
  2. Go to the Account page (top-right menu on web, sidebar in the app).
  3. Scroll to Delete account at the bottom.
  4. Confirm when prompted. You'll be asked to re-enter your password (or re-authenticate with Google) as a safety check.

Once you confirm, your account and associated data are removed immediately. You'll be signed out and returned to the sign-in screen.

2. Delete by email

If you can't access the app or prefer email, write to support@thelotterypool.net from the email address on your account with the subject "Account deletion request". We'll confirm the request, delete the account within 7 days, and reply when it's done.

3. What gets deleted

  • Your profile (name, email, profile photo, sign-in history)
  • Your push notification tokens across all devices
  • In-app notifications sent to you
  • Your Firebase Authentication record

4. What stays (and why)

Some content you've contributed to group pools remains so that other members' records stay intact:

  • Pool memberships — your member entry stays in pools you joined, so the pool's history (winnings, payments) isn't broken. The pool host can remove your entry from the member list if you ask them to.
  • Messages you posted on a pool's wall remain visible to other pool members. Ask the pool host to delete them if you'd like them removed.
  • Pools you hosted — these become orphaned when you delete your account. Before deleting, we recommend cancelling or finalising any pools you host so the other members aren't left with a dead pool.

If you need any of this content removed as well, email us at support@thelotterypool.net and we'll take care of it manually.

5. Retention and backups

We don't retain deleted account data. Our infrastructure provider (Google Firebase) may keep encrypted system backups for up to 30 days as part of its normal disaster-recovery process; those backups are not accessible to us and are overwritten on schedule.

6. Questions?

Email support@thelotterypool.net — we're happy to help before, during, or after deletion.
